Both of these characters are very aware that they are in a video game and it is like a kids show who is censored a lot in its network to targeted to their underage demographic.
Andrei Ulmeyda was, to me, the most unique target from Killer7. He wasn't the owner of a business, not a politician, not a government official, not a comic book artist with an ego. Instead, he was a charismatic guy that wanted to make the lives of people a bit better, finding vaccines for deadly diseases and trying to combat Heaven Smile, even if most of his actions were... questionable at best. It makes it all the sadder when tears run down his face when he tells the Killer7 to kill him before he catches Heaven Smile, and knowing what happens after that just makes it kind of depressing.
